With over three decades of experience in the classroom and on the field, Coach Buxton brings a veteran perspective to our 10U coaching staff. A 32-year Social Studies teacher at Claymont High School, he treats the dugout as an extension of the classroom, focusing on the growth and development of every player.
Coach Buxton’s coaching journey began in the youth ranks, leading Little League and Pony League teams while in college. He eventually moved up to the high school level, serving as the Junior Varsity and Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Claymont, in addition to head coaching roles for Varsity Girls Volleyball and Golf.
Today, his focus is entirely on the next generation. Since his twin boys began participating in sports, Coach Buxton has dedicated himself to their 6U, 8U, and now 10U baseball teams, as well as youth flag football and basketball programs. This varied experience has shaped his foundational approach to travel ball. He is dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of the game while fostering a competitive, high-character environment for the future of Mud Ducks baseball.
